If you knew who it was why didn't you show him the inside a a big baler

Police used to take him in occasionally, once they'd gathered enough evidence, then he'd get a suspended sentence. There would be no fires during that time, then they start again...

He was a bit simple in the head I think, but he did end up getting a seeing to, shortly after the local football club went up iirc.

I always recall the an old Fireman ,who was a rep ,telling us how there was a real spate of arson attacks around here !
They struggled to find the cuprit ,until one of the other firecrew though it odd how the fireman that lived the furthest away , had the doors open and the fire engine running (several times ) when some of the others arrived !! :D

We had fields at home where straw had to be cleared before nightfall or it would be up in flames. The local arsonist would often be stood on the railway bridge watching us baling.šŸ˜”
We clear everything , as soon as it's out of the baler it's on a trailer .

If you say so šŸ˜‰

We get one cut off it, half of it will be bulk for dry cow feed, other half will be lush clover with some seed heads.
All is after šŸ‘

Works for us šŸ‘

Ah, but it's the wrong colour mowers, attached to the wrong make of tractor, cutting the wrong seed mixture at the wrong time of day.

I suppose you're going to go and ted it too soon now as well?

trying to get a baler is a problem, everyone is flat out, we use 1 person, and 2 reserve, the one is thursday, both the others have 4 balers each, but hopefully, will be in tomorrow, as he will be baling near enough next door. Usually we don't cut, until sorted baler man out, son forgot to ring. That might teach him a lesson.
Not over worried about waiting an extra day, it's second cut, and was very green, more bad hay made in good weather, than bad weather, might be apt, it's really nice stuff, would be a pity to spoil it.

I know it'll never make hay the way I've done it just as well push it up in the corner and let it rot.....
Or get the tedders on and spread out the 35 acres I just cut

Very humid here with the heat, ground is still soaking wet, having to row this rubbish up to dry the ground to get the 'hay' dry enough for the power station.

These toppings havn't dried enough today either, pure ryegrass stalks, very frustrating.

Ryegrass takes some making into hay, it either keeps going back green overnight or drys out like stalky straw.

hi what do you think of the baler?
Fantastic till a bearing went yesterday with only 5200 bales on the clock! šŸ˜” will try to get a replacement with a grease nipple on. Not keen on sealed bearings. But apart from that its very good. Think ive only been off the seat 3 times to the netter in 5000+ bales. Managed 94 bales in an hour yesterday. (Cant do that everyday tho)

What difference does that make?
The transpiration of moisture from the pores of the grass is the same around the world.

It's the recommendation for silage as well to wilt asap.

I've not tried to make hay without some sort of mechanical means.

You could always try the Scandinavian method of hanging it on frames in the fields šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
Are u serious?

A bit labour intensive but Dad said that tripod hay made very good hay and done correctly a bit of rain didn't hurt it much, where he worked they had some sort of machine to pick the tripod and hay up and take it in to the rick
