Hay shed rental

I appreciate this is a how long is a piece of string question.

However I have been approached to rent out a 140' x 45', 20' to eves steel portal shed, clad to three sides with concrete apron and access (soil/planings floor). They will want to store hay and straw in there.

Where should I open the batting price wise?

Ideally I would get it done for industrial, however that requires money that is needed elsewhere at the moment, and he could just move straight in, but would need to be worthwhile.

Hmm , 20 foot to the eaves is a big shed , you will get some bales in there.

Used to work on $1/t/week when we stored hay for someone else. So roughly $4 for 2 8x3x4 squares/ month at only 6 bales high that's 1152 bales, so $2304/ month. 7th row in the middle (4 wide) adds another 140 bales or $280. So $2584/month

Charge enough to be able afford belt and braces site clearance and full rebuild cost cover, and tell insurer that you are renting it out.

valid point about insurance. Make sure your covered for a hay fire.
