Haylage making - neighbours cows in field.

Hoping to cut some grass for haylage if the forecast is right for next week, but in the last 24 hours neighbours cows have broken into field. Fortunately they weren't in long <24hrs, but they have trampled and eaten some of the grass, but also there is some dung as you would expect. It's really frustrating as it is the second time this has happened - last time just before made hay back in June.

I've not made haylage before, is the dung going to cause a problem once wrapped. Is there anything I can do about it.

I want to be a reasonable neighbour, but these cows have broken through the same place they got through in June and I can't see any attempt has been made to fix it, back then a bit of electric tape was put up over the hole, but could see no sign of it this time. He has my number but has not even bothered to send a text to say about it. I suspect hoping I wouldn't notice? I appreciate my own stock might get out at some point, but surely that's not very neighbourly? If the dung isn't going to cause a problem for haylage then I would let it slide, but if some of the field and grass is wasted, then surely he has responsibility for it. Appreciate others thoughts.

Thanks all- don't think a big amount of dung. Will aim to get it as dry as can, forecast for next week is steady 16-18 degrees sunny with some clouds dropping to 5/6 at night. Will see where that gets us, fortunately think they didn't spread over the whole field, so may try and keep bales from where they got into field separate. Might ask the guy with the cows to buy those ones so he can take the risk he created.

is the haylage for sale or home consumption? if its for your own cows its not that big a problem, but I wouldn't sell it

my own cows started breaking into my second cut before I made it, once they got the taste for it they were finding holes in the hedge everywhere :ROFLMAO: you obviously don't want loads of crap in your bales, but a little bit isn't the disaster some are making it out to be

Not cut yet hoping to cut this week coming, had a good look and seems confined to a few areas so will not cut those bits, and get remainder as dry as can. Thanks for all suggestions, more just annoyed they didn’t have the decency to say anything or say sorry.
