Planning on building shed for next winter to house ewes and am going to give them tmr would it work with only half amount of sheep being able to feed at one time or would they all need to be able to feed together.

Been on TMR 3 years now . Only about 20% can feed at any one time along feed barrier . More important to keep pushed up so that they never run short.
Thats the problem dont want to be liveing in the shed was thinking about troughs at barrier and filling oncec a day would be a
Intending that 50% could feed at once im hoping tmr will reduce prolapses.

We've been tmr for sheep since 1985, 30 ewes eating from 15ft trough with sloping side so fresh mix comes down as they're eating. As said the key is getting the amount of feed so they've only just cleared the trough when fed again. Get that right and you can up the stocking rate

Do you see much advantage in tmr

We are looking to change also to tmr and was told 6inch per ewe, just looking at a deal on a new diet feeder as I can’t find a small one anywhere that isn’t totally shagged.
