Ive raised this before. Parents have their heads in the sheds on this. My MIL refuses to accept that my niece of 4 is overweight (huge belly and folds of fat on a petite frame)! She thinks food is for giving and seeing that both my husband and SIL were fat as children talk about being blinded (husband is now so obsessed its kind of ruined his mind and has stretch marks WTF?) Endless gratification with utter carby grainy foods. Endless need to feed to give yourself happiness is cruel and a terrible way to start life. Being overweight brings so many other minor aliments that just dont get talked about - poor posture, easy leg breakages, bowel aliments, head aches, stomach acid, lose skin, stretch marks, low esteem, bullying endless issues that I as a parent dont want o put on my childs head. The nations health is going downhill shockingly fast! There will be cases where the parents the children and the grandchildren share their last weeks in the same nursing home! Fizzy soft drinks and hight sugar items should be licenced and only sold to over 18s. Children should be regularly weighed in schools and those on an unhealthy growth curve should be identifed early, parents advised and assisted and those who allow their children to continue on the curve to become significantly overweight should be held legally responsible. I don't like a nanny state but it seems too many people are unwilling or unable to make inteligent choices themselves...
Nobody wants to live forever but who wants to die? I would like to think that most old folk who have lived a healthy livestyle have fewer problems and require much less care in their later years than others who die younger but require much more medical intervention during there life due to poor lifestyle choices. I would rather try live a happy and healthy lifestyle though I admit I am often failing on both accounts. The government ought to be encouraging us to live a happy but unhealthy lifestyle. That might counter some of the problems associated with old age! Who wants to live for ever? Why should the young pay for indefinite care for the aged?
How about the NHS issuing free drugs (hard drugs and soft drugs, not medication as they do that already) and alcohol of choice to old age pensioners, on demand, and grant aid establishments like Cynthia Payne's? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cynthia_Payne).
i prefer my formula for age.....'you are as young as the girl you feel'
Well that reduces my age by 4 years, much better than the NHS heart age calculator.
Bg
Same here.reduces mine by seven
Mine came in at 51 so im 2 years out on my age ..happy with that but room for improvement ..anyone done it ? wonder how farmers compare as a demographic vs the national average where 4/5 have a heart age older than their real age !
