What's the trick to get the things to stay on?

Yesterday I put 15 on my bulling heifers this morning 10 still have them on. I tried clipping the hair for the first time thinking that might help, I also got them warmer than normal by placing them in range of a fan heater, can you get them to warm?
Does anyone use extra glue? Is there a better way without daily chalking?

Carpet glue ,the spray on type you'll get it in any hardware , spray it on leave it for 2 minutes then put the sticker on .

Yes they "should" be but it's not always that way in practice, IME 10% of the heifers here are not worth keeping for a second lactation, however it is improving
If your heifers are not on average your best genetics there is something wrong. A few duds don't change that. That's just breeding.

Just cull the dud bloodlines. It's not like we can afford to wait and only breed from animals that make it 3rd and 4th lactation. Even then I'm sure we have had dud cows from some of our best cows.

Thank you for your suggestion I've replaced the missing ones today and used some carpet glue they seem to of gone on well!

I use kamar glue and that works well. If but you warm the stickers up a bit ie by the Rayburn the night before you use them it makes the glue a lot stronger, I found if you clip the hair too tight the glue doesn't have much to stick to

The only way to get them to the right temperature is to stick them down your knickers for half an hour before using them they don't come off then !!!!
