Heat pumps

Put an 11 Kw single phase ASHP in 4 years ago for the house I built in 1995 - The buildings inspector said we had overdone the insulation at the time .
Fitted u/floor heating up and down from new but that never worked well until fitting the heat pump.
Now the wood burner (not on RHI) is available but only used for show unless we had an outage longer than 24 hours ( not happened yet)
that must make the meter spin :)
Thought my 7 Kw was bad enough

Been looking at a few options recently and the consensus I have got from chatting to numerous people is that heat pumps are great but only if you build a passive spec house otherwise you will always need a plan b.

Was in a passive house a couple of weeks ago and couldn't believe how comfortable the house was with just the heat pump working at a very low temperature although they never have experienced a power outage. I was glad I was sitting down when the owner told me it was around the £220 sq/ft for the build, which over here in NI is crazy talk sort of numbers.

It’s all relative - installers couldn’t decide whether we needed a single or twin unit so I said put the bigger one in and let it have an easier life …. A bit like the van with the biggest engine has the best fuel consumption 6609FBBB-7F1C-4461-B8CB-3697CAFEC37D.jpeg

Dog likes the chilled air in summertime when we run the hot water

if the dog parked himself elsewhere he would not need a jacket, or was he just looking to cool off :ROFLMAO:
