Heatwave milk warmer

Anyone using one of these for pet lambs? Are they any good? We're currently using a shepherdess bucket but thought the heatwave might be better

We got one last year as we had twenty odd pet lambs, I liked it although they consumed a massive amount of milk - it seemed to be empty every morning. Put them on cold then when old enough and they calmed down! But the pet lambs did well, were not the first away but some were in in the second lot.

We bought one just before Christmas and have 5 pets on it ATM. It takes a bit of time getting them used to it but boy does it beat bottle feeding. So as far as I can see it's a great job but we'll see how it goes over the next month. Fingers crossed. Will save you a load of time.

We bought one last spring for lambs & it is excellent. We had tried both Shepherdess & Ewe2 in previous years but both had faults & went back

We have since used it for calves & have found it an excellent way to get B&W bull calves growing on waste milk. They are taking 6-7 litres / day at 2 - 3 weeks. The only problem we have experienced is that something (cats ?) has chewed the milk pipe, so we have sleeve it with a bigger pipe

We are planning a new calf shed away from the other buildings to be built in the summer which will have electric, water a new heat wave machine & a pallet of powder. I know the powder will be expensive but the growth should be worth it.

How's the Heatwave performing?

Any more votes for it? I'm thinking of getting one for our cade lambs.

I have it going three weeks now and its a great job. One of the lambs on it (which was born a quad) is doing as well as a lamb on a ewe. Some lambs seem to thrive on it. The major benefit in my opinion is the cut down in the work with bottles. 10 mins in the morning checking and cleaning the pipes and mixing up more milk and that's it!

Is there certain milk powder that has to be used?
