Some big yellow thing appeared a few days ago, as yet I have not managed to speak to anyone old enough to remember what it is called

According to the weather chappie on my local radio station a heatwave is 5 consecutive days with above average temperatures . That’s my piece of useless information for today . [emoji851]
What is your average temperature, Andrew?
When we get to ours, which is about 11 or 12, it seems just right. Any hotter, and I really struggle after a week.... but coldness I like.
I would struggle anywhere between the 46th parallel and the equator, in other words!
 
This is off the BBC weather app , about average for this time of year I’d think .
