We have a devon bank with a hedge on top bordering the road, every year we have the hedge trimmed, but it is starting to get a bit gappy and I want to grow it up a bit and then lay it.
Along the hedge is a road sign for the junction, just a red triangle type sign, and the council contractor cuts several metres in front of this sign every year, but far lower than the bottom of the sign, not leaving a lot of hedge remaining.
When looking at the road sign, is there a certain area that needs to remain clear by law? I don't mind planting a few more plants to thicken up the hedge by the sign if necessary, but I want to ensure that the council are only able to trim what they are legally allowed to
