Hopefully getting the book thrown at any offenders, FFS if you dont want the rules why do people claim the money, one fool breaking the rules makes us all look bad in the eyes of the public and just leads to more rules and red tape,What are the likely repercussions/fines of getting caught starting hedge cutting 2 weeks early.
Has anyone had any luck getting a derogation to allow earlier cutting. I see there is a natural England form you can fill in to apply for it.
I don't fancy your chances of getting away with it now anyway. I won't bother cutting the hedges where I am planting rape, save me a job, give the wildlife somewhere to sit. What are the likely repercussions/fines of getting caught starting hedge cutting 2 weeks early.

Do you really think they are not coming anyway?just leads to more rules and red tape,
more than likely but with people breaking the rules they will be tighter and quickerDo you really think they are not coming anyway?
I just can't see how the rules can be policed. Their are hundreds of thousands of miles of hedge in this country, it would take an army to look at all of them on the1st September.
I was just wondering if there was a known fine i.e. % of payment to be deducted per mile of hedge found to contravene the new rules, so the decision to break the rules or comply with then could be an informed choice rather than a reaction to a scare story.
Ffs, bugger the rules, just use common sense.Cant you just cut them if it dries up or is very frosty in winter, if not leave them until after you harvest it, or do the rules say you have to cut them?

To be fair to those who cut the benifit, they could do with a swift Redband to the arse.Think they get their benefit cut if they break the rules.
Same here at work makes it a bit easier at harvest/drilling, then tend to get round them in the quiet'ish times in the winter.Im lucky as i got 6m margins round the whole farm so normally cut early jan after all the berries have gone
