I'd say cow parsley, but that's without looking it up to be sure. The stems don't have the purple blotches for hemlock and the habitat wouldn't suit that.

Certainly Apiacae family, which includes cow parsley, hogweed, wild carrot, hemlock etc.

Its not hemlock; hasn't got the pink/purple/crimson stains on the stem and the flowers don't look right. There are two dozen different umbelliferae and you would need a book to tell them apart. I don't think it's wild carrot from the looks of it but I've never seen a specimen as tall as that.

The purple-pink stems don't help too much either, several of the family have that. I'd be inclined to say cow parsley simply because I often saw it growing from roots dragged out into the headlands.

Wild carrot or Chervil I reckon. Sewage sludge is the likely cause as like tomato seeds they can survive the stomach and sewage works !! I saw a couple of plants last year and got off the sprayer to pull them out at the T 3 timing, a neighbour has had major problems with it. Ally / starane or Harmony type sprays can sort it in cereals when small, more of a problem in other crops.

I've been walking some spring barley and January drilled wheat this evening in anticipation of spraying it tomorrow and I've come across this weed.

I can't positively Identify it from books and apps. Its a umbrellifer Has got a silvery grey appearance and is very soft to the touch.

itI initially thought it was but churvil but it's not, the nearest I can get is yarrow.

Anyone got any ideas???? And more importantly will ally+mcpa or Broadway star kill it.

I don't have my books to hand to identify it properly. I agree about carrot family. That normally means big doses of metsulfuron or Arylex.
