Afternoon everyone, was changing o rings in the priority valve on the 8210 and I'm everything was fine until my brother came home from school today and lifted the valve to have a look and this spring etc fell out of this hole :banghead: does anyone know why way it goes back in? Have checked the NH online parts catalogue but got nothing.
Thanks in advance

Ball first, then oily end of spring next to it and the strange looking blue painted end goes in the plug

quite why an internal spring whats never seen the light of day before has blue paint on it though...

look right down the hole and you can see the conical seat the ball sits on

does the end cap have an adjuster bolt threaded through it, which contacts on the folded end of the spring

Which way is pressure maybe of help ?
Think pressure is going out to spool valve.

Thanks John, don't know why it would be blue, maybe painted in factory?

With items like this, i prefer to remove the complete unit from the tractor, then strip it down inside a big old baking tin or similar, that way any small escapable parts are kept contained and not lost in the bermuda triangle thats called the workshop floor
Usually I set bits everywhere but this time laid a cloth on cab floor then used and old butter tub for the bits

So the 8210 has the check valve stop fitted the opposite way round to all the others :scratchhead:

Slighty odd that a precision component such as the check valve stop was covered in paint, which could flake off and presumably block the orfices in the flow control valve on the top cover?

Maybe something to do with it having EDC?
