Help Please

I have a Massey Ferguson 8150 Dynoshift 1997 R Reg . The problem I have is the PTO, high range gears and dynoshift will not engage, all other hydraulics are ok. We have checked wiring & fuses . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

The last time it all worked ok it was operating a chipper the next week it didn’t work. We’ve checked all oil levels and topped up . PTO shaft no longer turning as it won’t engage but it worked ok before . We thought as it’s 3 items that are on the same wiring loop that it was either a fuse or a wire but that’s all been checked and is ok.

Put your multimeter away. Start from the beginning, with the ignition off press the clutch pedal do any lights come on? If not, just in case it's had a DIY modification turn on the ignition note which lights are on then press the clutch pedal, do any more lights come on?

No light come on when you press the clutch ignition off or on

OK in a way that's good, start at the battery's, from the positive terminal there should be a wire going up to two fuses. One has red wires that's the hyd lift which you say is working, the other has yellow wires that is the one that supply's the autotronic (pto, hi/lo, dynashift, diff lock, 4wd) get a big bulb with two bits of wire and rig yourself a test light. Check you have good power in and out of the fuse. If good there check the cable that goes over the engine and down near the exhaust at the front right hand side of the cabin, there should be a connector there to check. Under the front right hand corner of the cabin there is a metal plate remove that and you will see loads of wires, find the yellow wire and check there. If all good on the yellow wire, in that same area find a white/clear coloured block connector with about 10 wires, check the orange wire in that block connector.

I apologise for not getting back to you we have had a major issue on the farm. Sadly we still have the same issue after trying everything suggested.

OK so I will take it that you made yourself a test lamp and have checked the yellow wire all the way from the battery to the computer, through all it's connections.

Need to know which computer is fitted, how many connectors does the box have?
