Does anybody know if you can get a slurry tanker "economy style " dribble bar without a macerator which can still reach 8m in spread width??.
I have seen 5m ones.....but would this simple version reach 8m? - or do they run out of pressure / not enough flow to keep free from blockages and are therefore limited in width with out a macerator?

There was a thread on here recently, but cant find it.

Many thanks.

we are on sandy slurry with very little fibre and no crust....we tried a tanker with the basic system and it seemed to work here.....but want to get to about 8m width and just wondering if an extension welded on each side with an extra pipe would work or if the limit is in reality about 5m or so.

What are these cheap ones ? I enquired to major about a dribble bar for my tanker and they wanted 50% more than I paid for the tanker with sprung draw bar, floatation's and self fill arm . Bonkers for what a dribble bar and macerator amount to .
I was perhaps going to look at putting one of those wagtail spreaders on instead as they apparently get very good results in reducing nitrogen loses which is what I am after

Is your inlet pipe coming in at an angle of straight in?

Only time I've had uneven spread was because I'd put the inlet pipe on at a tilt.

Had it in bits yesterday, retentioned the springs on the knife, put it back together and now it works perfectly . Weather something had gone through it and just knock the knife slightly out line one side, don't know

Yes bought one , a brilliant bit of kit , would never go back to splash plate .Just worried they will get banned even though the EA accept there is merit in the principal it's just without very expensive trials they won't officially except them , money the small company does not have and big manufacturers make far more out of dribble bars etc to be interested especially as it would knock sales of the more expensive.
