Besides baby formula I would think that it would be best to supply the most nutrient dense and freely available foods such as tinned fish-tuna, mackerel, sardines etc., coconut milk, beans, tinned fruit, oats, rice, tinned soups….. I’m sure there’s plenty else too.

Tinned food, baby formula milk and baby products, medical supplies, blankets, warm jackets are all needed.

Need to be a bit cautious with non-tinned or boxed food. The last thing we want is lorries to get held up at customs.

The first lorry has left Lincolnshire and got through from the farmer network I am working with. Hoping to have one leave here on Monday. Quietly confident my contacts can get the aid right into Ukraine itself.

There's posts circulating on Tik Tok where folk of colour are not being allowed onto trains to leave Ukraine, reminds me of Schindlers list and Nazi Germany.
That is a fair point. We know of a Nigerian student who cannot get out of the Ukraine. Although 231 Kenyan Students have gotten out. However a black person might actually be safer than an indigenous Ukrainian.

Hello everyone, hope you're well. Have any of you had any luck with helping Ukrainian refugees as yet? I'm putting together next week's Farmers Guardian podcast and we'd love to talk to a farmer or two who are actively engaged with helping. Have any of you been able to house anyone, offer jobs, or know of anyone who has? Perhaps you have been matched with someone but are waiting for them to arrive? I'd be grateful for your help. Thanks, Jez Fredenburgh :)
