If you could even cut your your feed by 50 or 60 kg per day, it all adds up over the course of a flock,
I don’t think by limiting the feeds per day you are going to save on feed. The only way you will manage that is keeping the temperature in the shed warmer (downsides of this are increased red mite burden and potentially lower air quality especially in the winter)

They come over in a van on the night boat, spray the house with the silica slurry, stay at a travelodge, fog the house the next day and get the boat back.

Hoping to have them over to do ours the last week of Feb, but at the moment it's a bit up in the air with all the covid and brexit nonsense.
Did you ever get confirmation if your Dutch team can get over?

No but I’d be very interested… we’re getting about a 15 litre bucket 2/3 full of feathers everyday (the fluffy type that rub off on the mats) it’s slowing our packer down while having feathers around the waste bucket as they drift
