Any idea how you get on with Sparta cocksfoot for grazing?
I've specced a couple of kgs in my silage leys, but gone for Donata on grazing ground as supposedly more palatable.
We have had donata for years doesn't get clumpy .In a dry year only thing green .3rd cut just starting to head again at 6 weeks.

nice looking sward, interesting to see plantain and chicory well grown together, we are finding they come at different times, even though both in mix, which, l suppose, is exactly what we want.

Is this for cows to milk on or flowers for the garden
Can’t beat prg/ white clover
You can beat PRG with diverse swards if on light land and low growing season rainfall.
I do spec PRG in the mix for shoulders of the season and cool season growth, but my PRG and white clover leys burn up and overall produce less than the herbal leys in my experience.
And for silage, I won't even consider Italian Ryegrass now. Heads for fun and too much bare dirt.

we are finding prg tends to head, when stressed, very quickly, so moving away from it being the highest % seed, in the mix, mainly because it tended to 'synchronise' itself across the grazing block, we ended up premowing, which the cows didn't like, according to the b/tank.
In a 'normal' year, prg has performed well, but has pretty well failed the last 3yrs, due to drought, and, of course, we will have a run of decent summers now ! But, we are prepared for another, looking at the figure for purchased fodder, over the last 3 winters, we need to be !

Have you done that before and if so how successful? My contractor has a Moore unidrill which I've found a bit hit and miss...
I had 30 acres to do here last month but couldn't get any contractors here to spray anything or do the drilling 🤦‍♂️ and it's a bit late now to be putting herbs in on this farm
No first attempt
Seed company said, spin on and trample in 😬
