I was just wondering what growers thoughts on herbicides are in these very dry conditions? Had a very interesting discussion with our agronomist this morning. We have a lot at the point of spraying later this week . Decision time.

We carried on with the original plan despite the dry conditions but followed the application with 12.5mm of irrigation to wash the chemical in.

You almost dammed if you do and dammed if you don't put the residuals on to potatoes.

Putting Shotput on as its not that expensive for a half decent dose.

But Praxim would break the bank.

We put Artist and Shotput on then irrigated within a few days. I would think that perhaps aiming at a smaller/cheaper application would be the best option as really what do you do post emergence?

We usually go Defy Sencorex Retro and it does a very good job . I used this yesterday hoping we get get rain end of the week . If we rent land with big grass weed pressure we go down the Artist/Gamit route. We are not as dry as a lot of people we have had showers with been wright on the east coast.

Any investment in the Scarborough factory is a good thing!

I thought it was all good news.. I'm sure there will be negative sides too however mainly pluses

I did look out for you and spoke to a Norfolk farmer who has a sands sprayer
