If I’m looking at another job then rather being told you’re working these hours on these days for this money, it would be a case of me saying I’m doing this work on these days for this money

Employer currently paying £12/hr. Employee waltzes in asking/demanding £20/hr.

Problem is your doing enough hours with the commute to have no other time for nothing else so it needs to be decent brass. Your can work 40 hours in a factory and have another 40 to do something else be that another job or your own carry on

You can get nearly that working in a supermarket with extra for overtime and there will be a supermarket far closer than a 2 hour commute.

With a pension and sick pay, benefits, discount card, uniform, colleagues to talk to, work in a warm dry environment…….

It must be if the farmer can afford to pay someone else to farm....

Hi everyone. Was wondering what your opinion is on a hourly rate/ salary for herdsman.
Herdsman is commuting 2 hours per day as there’s no available accommodation on farm. Responsibilities include x1 milking 250 cows at 4:30am, Feeding calves twice a day and all extra calf duties, responsible for all records/admin, foot trimming, weekly vet visits and other general farm work. 11 days on 3 off. 110 hours fortnightly. 55 per week.
Any advice much appreciated.

What is your opinion about that working situation? Not the pay, but the actual lifestyle that you have
