Would the fertiliser industry not have to increase size massively if the world is going to be fed on vegan crops only?

The fertiliser industry is massive but it's fossil fuel consumption is barely 1% of the total and you could argue this is done to grow food- something we can't really do without.

F1 is largely a sport aimed at recreation and entertainment. The fact it is a developmental arena for cars with internal combustion engines is secondary in my view. There is no reason whatsoever F1 cars (and their fleet of converted 747s actually) could not run on 100% bioethanol or biobutanol and have zip carbon footprint but they won't because their main sponsors are fossil fuel giants.
