Here we go again

It’s the law of diminishing returns as far as covid and the governments response is concerned.By not hysterically shouting about boosters, people would quickly (and rightly) question the reaction to date.

Thing is, I strongly suspect the majority of politicians know this and accept we need to live with it, and accept that with the benefit of hindsight, the reaction maybe was a little OTT. There was plenty of justification for this in the early days which most sensible people acknowledge. If they had the balls just to come out and say this, they would earn a lot of respect. But for now it’s just Boris flanked by glum and glummer crying wolf to an ever lessening audience.

Gross negligence

Endless lockdowns orchestrated by incompetent cowards. A problem doubled if you live in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Anyone else crying out for a politician with some flippin backbone to say what needs to be said? namely:

Covid is going nowhere. Get jabbed if you want to, it helps if you catch it, but otherwise get on with your life and we’ll leave you alone.
But they can‘t, as it all comes down to protecting the religion, that is the NHS.

If they did that and swamped it, they’d never be voted in again.

Don’t think so with the vaccination level and to be honest if we have to do this every time there is a variant in the next 10yrs we are fecked.

Main thing is to keep the schools in if they want any of us to be productive.
I dont think lockdowns will happen either vaccine passports are going to be the norm

10 days isolation if you have been in contact with this new variant.
Wouldn't bother me much but it will really bugger the country up if lots of folk are told to isolate for 10 days.
Thats what killed it in the summer contact 10 days off people played on it

Just lift all restrictions get country back to normal, its just natural selection, survival of the fittest, the world is over populated. Nature just doing her thing.
Not enough profit to be made in selling PPE and vaccines if you do that though, there needs to be much more fear inducing announcements. And anyway, your argument falls apart about nature when it is manmade anyway.

It is the kids that are suffering from all this nonsense, they have had a bloody hard time of it and aren't even particularly at risk.

& so it starts, no country trusts Bozo’s ability to control the spread of the new variant, Switzerland tonight announced that travellers from the UK have to self isolate for 10 days after arriving & have been vaccinated twice, unvaccinated cannot even travel there, how long before other countries do the same?
Are you suggesting that’s not a smart strategy by the Swiss?

And if anyone thinks they are going force my children to get vaccine for this virus they can f### off!

How long till the next variation …, and the next and the next, if we didn’t have all this data and the internet to tell us all about covid, would anyone actually know it was a thing?
I think you’d have to wind the clock back a fair bit further than that to a time before TV and radio when medical science wasn’t up to detecting that it wasn’t a case of normal flue.so it wouldn’t be diagnosed or broadcast that it was anything new

The Swiss have now changed it to us taking tests before we leave the UK as long as you are vaccinated which is the sensible thing, they just react quicker but are really unlucky in having no borders with so many EU countries so no doubt it will spread there eventually unfortunately.

What’s the point of them really though?

if you’re vaccinated then it lessens the symptoms to you should you catch it. Vaccines have no effect on others one comes into contact with, or vaccinated people catching and passing on the virus.

So what is the point of vaccine passports other than rewarding compliance with what the government currently wants by allowing us permission to do stuff we used to do anyway, “treats” such as a social life.

It’s a lot like Red Tractor really. 🤭

Masks, avoiding densely packed social events, testing, fine, I can see the point and the benefit of those.

Vaccine passports to coerce you (and your kids) into multiple jabs for the foreseeable future? No chance. We’re still in the trial period for these drugs, and will be till 2023.
