23 Sept 2020 - 29mm rain

I hope that is the only similarity.

Well every time we have a rain free 7 days above 20 degrees someone declares it to be just like 1976.

Sorry guys. But could do with some rain here! Dust storms on our sand on Monday with the wind.

Winter crops won't do anything until they get moisture. Seeds sat in dust.

I feel I really must apologise for moaning about the dry weather in April / May. It didn't affect yield too much, unlike the monsoon which perturbed me at harvest. Little did I know back then we'd be in for 10 months of continual precipitation. If anyone catches me blubbing about droughts again, please feel free to come round and sandpaper my face off. I most humbly promise it won't happen again. I fear I have let the entire industry down with my no rain event whinging. Once again I must apologise for my heinous crime.

An inch of rain here yesterday. Now 5 oC and more rain forecast this morning. 300 acres of beans to cut and 1/3 through cereal drilling. I need another 3 weeks of dry weather please.

It would struggle to be much crapper than last year, and *most* of us seem to have a reasonable crop now in store. It is what it is.
