Herz Firematic 199 kw boiler

Iv e got the Herz 199kw biomass boiler , Im constantly getting melted lumps of silica like material and clinker on grate which goes on to block the ash removal auger . Also not producing much heat . Im burning good dry larch chip so is not poor fuel . Any suggestions as to what's going on welcome ?

the wetter the chip the more clinker, bought some chip off a different supplier witch was seasoned for a year a lot more clinker than my usual chip witch is dried on a drying floor

I dont know about chip boilers, I burn grade a.

but I notice as above, the fuel picks up moisture in the winter and gives more clinker. Virtually none in the summer.

its a fuel issue but maybe you can adjust settings to improve it?

clinkers are created from the ash fusion temperature, this is normally way about 1000 deg, if the ash has a lower fusion temperature or your flame temperature is too high then you get clinkers, lots of fines can cause it due to it burns too fast raising the flame temperature above the fusion temperature,
