I can't see the tramlines under the snow here & the ground isn't frozen hard. There's no way we'd travel even if I were daft enough to be out.

All wheat had first dose of nitrogen yesterday and today. Couple of winter oat fields got a sniff as well that went in later just to help them along. Missed most of the rugby but after last weeks display against Scotland wasn't overly worried! No osr or winter barley.

Rolled most of our cover crops on the -7/-8s a few weeks ago, all stone dead now, including the weeds + its exposed all the small grass weeds.

The cold winds look to have done the knee high oats. All the stubble is visible and most of the previously yellow greenery has broken down. Will see what regrows.

With temperatures rising and predicted to be mid teens by the weekend I'm going to try and get 1cwt of urea onto everything this week. I would have gone sooner but went from frozen solid with snow cover to blowing a gale to 15mm of rain last night and this week isn't looking brilliant but hopefully it'll go in a day or two.
