HF? HM?

I've read these "what's this forum?" threads, and several people are explaining what Holistic Management is.

Now maybe it's just me, but this forum is called Holistic Farming, not Holistic Management. I'd say they are different things: one's a wooly concept, the other is a specific brand of management philosophy.

If the forum is really an HM one, the name needs changing. If not, then maybe it would be less confusing for everyone if they were't mixed up?

I think you have a valid point, will request a change.

Yes, sorry, I'm just taking the pish....
I understand organic farming because there's a premium.
What I want to know with this other stuff is, where's the money ?

not me ! a few members requested it and Jake set it up

@Hartwig was one that asked for it IIRC
Right, it was me .....
It was out of my imagination and intention to open pandora`s box with this forum, I just wanted to have a separate section where we can discuss something outside the box of conventional mainstream farming - I don`t care if you call it Regenerative Farming, HM, HF or whatever. Just share informations and experiences !

Isn't that what the DD forums are anyway? I'm not convinced that splitting up further is a good idea, it's not like they are over run already.

I'm not sure direct drilling covers any of the livestock elements of HM, HF regenerative farming etc. There are farmers out there who would like to build soil and organic matter but don't have a tractor or a drill let alone a combine and a sprayer. In my head, this forum is for those people.

In that case call the whole forum "regenerative agriculture" and then have three sub forums, arable, livestock and machinery. Even three forums is probably too many, there's between 2-4 weeks of thread in each one at the moment.
