@Woolless , this is the market your fine Hereford’s should be tapping into! We have it on our doorstep, no need to import it from the other side of the world !
This is what Global Britain is all about: Trade, competition and hang the carbon emissions and food miles!

As you saw, my Herefords are some way off their date with destiny/chips and onion rings. However, I am beginning to hope that big fat heifer isn't in calf. She looks so damn tasty :playful:

I think Miller an Carter have always used foreign beef?? I know a butcher that only sells Australian beef, he says you can always guarantee it’s the same week in week out!! All comes vac packed in primal cuts, not saying he’s right or wrong but I do know they used to buy out of market years ago but must of struggled to find what the customer wants 🤷‍♂️

At one time I was getting emails from Tom Hixson at Smithfield, there was hardly any british beef on their website, lots of USDA, South American and Aussie stuff though along with some Wagyu.

Looking now it has improved a little, maybe pandemic and brexit has changed things somewhat, but any eating establishments using them had access to a lot of non Uk beef.

Have had a leg on the other side of the fence all my life, Australian beef has been around a long, long time and all I've seen has been excellent quality.
