High houred diet feed tractor

What would you make of a 2005 tm140 range command with 11000 hours which were 80 percent spent diet feeding. Very clean tractor and well minded. Nothing ever done to the tractor apparently. I know the tractor and never saw it off the diet feeder. It was even left on in summer. What state would the engine and gearbox be like at these hours doing that job?

I wouldn't regard 11000 as high hours.
I would expect that you will have to do some maintenance or repairs to it the longer you keep it but depending on your ability with the spanners or if you know a good mechanic, it shouldn't be too bad.
If you need a main dealer for all repairs or pm then you're probably better with a newer one.

14 year ago we bought an N-reg (1996 - so it was 10yr old at the time) Ford 7740 which had spent its entire life on a diet feeder... Just under 7'000 hours when we bought it.

It has needed a new oil pump in its time with us and an exhaust box, but other than that - just tyres.

Engine is still sweet as! And the gearbox is perfect (it has 11'000 hours now). I would expect the same of a TM doing that job, too. If you know the tractor, get it bought!

Friend of mine had a TM 150 bought new and lived on the mixer wagon it’s entire life. 29000 hours when he left the farm in 2014. Engine replaced at 26000, lot of problems with electrical connections towards the end. Doesn’t mean they are all like that.
