High Or Low Land

Question
I am interested to see, do you find it better to have land;
1, in a valley.
2, on a hill top.
with regards to farming organic.
a, chickens
b, sheep
c, growing trees

Is it really bad on top of a hill, storms?

How high is the hill?
How low is the valley?

Soil type and climate may well be more significant than elevation. Cant see chickens doing well on top of a hill though.

You want a farm that starts on the river bank in the valley floor... and raises all the way up, and over, the valley top.


But for me... I'd take the high ground every time.

Our farm goes from 150' to 1600' but hardly any of it would grow veg or large scale arable.

Neither . Would farm on the Downs if I had a choice. If your at the bottom you get all the water from the top and if your at the top you get all the rain that runs to the bottom

Pembrokeshire. The land is far better far more sun less rain and the roads are better and it's flatter .But it's not match for the rich Downs of England

LOL, I keep hearing Pembrokeshire, Is it really that good there? Weather? What about Houses with land?

Carmarthenshire is not much of Pembrokeshire? Is there a difference?

Parts of Pembrokeshire are like the rolling Downs. There is a difference driving to Cardigan from here weather wise .I would say a Month earlier in the spring and twice as much sun difference
