I’ve seen it worse , for years we had sleet snow n rain in April killed new born lambs for fun , this is workable with the other is pure misery.
You have to look at the bigger picture of misery ,
Whats this doing to spring sown Cereals on the back of last year ,not another shortage of straw
I have never known it so cold for so long in April
Do I leave the [emoji848] the grass seed in the bag ?

Your now the grass seed messiah. You'll know.

Personally it's so dry here grass seed won't germinate so it won't come to any harm I don't think. If it had a week of warmth and moisture, then turned frosty would do more harm.

How come before you sold grass seed you never commented on it? Now you sell it your into every thread.

All depends if you drill into any moisture, never like drilling grass in the spring, seems to take all summer to get it going. Also reliant on the weather.
Drilled in Autumn is by far the better option.

I can take the grass seed bit out if you like but as I have 50 acres to sow its on my mind ,10 acres going in today , I sowed a lot this time last year and it was 6 weeks before it came through ,

Sounds like it was here last year. Everywhere had rain apart from Morayshire. Plenty moisture here this year. Ground is soaking wet.

And their will be supply issues with straw for ever now so get used to that , growth regulator , choppers , power stations , whole crop .

Wheat and barley on lighter land looking a bit sick , but on a positive note, we’ve got all the muck and slurry onto maize ground without leaving a mark and I’ve ploughed most of it .
And it’s boot not welly weather .
Was up at Whitchurch yesterday, crops up with you normally look much better than down this way but was surprised nowt special, see the irrigators were going on I assume lettuce. You do have some lovely soils but it was very dry where we were at the ploughing match.
Down here there is moisture just below the surface (for now) but there those that ploughed/Combi'd their spring crops in lost a lot.
Got some fert to bang on, not sure what good it'll do just sat on the surface

Very variable soils in Shrop’s . Very light in places especially East of the county.
I’m going to put fert on today. Last thing I want is it coming wet and not able to get on.
Just a small amount though .
Haven’t sprayed anything yet
