Have you gone through the usual things - checked hyd oil level, changed filter, checked the MCV etc? including the relief valve?

Basically steering and hydraulics are terrible unless it's got lots of revs, slow to lift, and then not got great lift capabilities, will still tip a trailer but not very quickly, thinking new pump with high speed kit would sort it

Why not just replace like for like ? Do you actually need the extra flow ?
IF you fit the high speed gear to an earlier tractor you will get more hydraulic noise, also if your tractor hasn't had a new transfer pump recently it would be a very good idea to fit one IF you go down the high speed pump route.
The reason for this is an old/original transfer pump will be worn and it may not keep up with a higher output pumps demands.
What happens is you get odd faults because if the new pump, operating at higher output can't get enough oil it's sucking air because quite simply the transfer pump cannot keep up.

As for testing you need a flow meter to the job properly, it's great to know the high pressure RV is working correctly ( 2500 psi ) but with hydraulics flow is everything 👌
