Highland show tickets, online.

It had to be you we didn’t speak to!! You should have come on and said TFF and I would have guessed who it was! If you recognise me you should have kicked me! I was on the MF stand looking over the tedder so you must know who I am. I was going to have a chat about your old Belair but not to be! Not sure I’ll make the Turriff show but if I do I’ll pm you. Next time I’ll wear a TFF hat. @Clive any hats going?

PS. I was wearing a name badge so I must have been off the stand at the time. Sorry they should have at least said hello. I can tell you that we try to acknowledge everyone that steps foot on the stand and even those who stop on the walkway to look. I had some great chats with folk on the front edge. One fella from Somerset that works by Glasto’ site and helps the build and breakdown. He gets free tickets as part of his deal. Lucky chap. Oh he’s a a farmer as well!
I spoke to a blonde dude in his (I'd guess 30s) on Saturday morning I was looking at a tedder.

I was down from Thursday evening until Sunday afternoon. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, even though I wa kept busy being involved in showing stock, shearing and YF tug of war, plus a smidge of socialising.
I felt that the security staff were politer and far more helpful than previous years.
The stock lines has a fantastic atmosphere and party spirit, and were largely self policed.
I did think it wasn’t great with all the hullabaloo about online tickets/no cash on the gates, a few of the bars that I was in were cash only. My only other negative thoughts are the cleanliness of toilets and showers

Agree with comment on toilets had to walk the kids from one side of show to the other to find an open toilet as 2 at the west side were closed and 1 has been removed. Then they had to wait in a fair queue for the ladies. I also don’t think the bins were emptied as much as usual either. Possibly they have cut back on the basis that they never have more than 50k people in instead of catering for the highest number possibly every day. The hired in stewards were helpful and polite in both the show and the east caravan park.

My other thoughts have been echoed by others above. Only thing I can think is what can trade exhibitors (both machinery and in the food hall) do to entice customers in to their stands? Show deals? Big screen TVs showing kit working? (Seems to work for Grassmen) Giving out beer/hospitality? That seems to have died right back from my younger days.

Should the show work harder to get that 15% farmer attendance higher? What could they do for that? Give away tickets (or at least cut price tickets) at marts/machinery dealers maybe 🤷‍♂️ I spoke to a hell of a lot of friends an neighbours in the weeks running up to the show and many regulars weren’t going off the back of the costs be it parking/entry/food & drink or travel.

I must say I (and wife and kids) throughly enjoyed our 3 an a bit days down at the show, hopefully some business will come from the enquiries I made.

The new members pavilion is nice, youngest kids loved the play park. Food was goodAtmosphere was brilliant I thought.

I really hope that after everything that’s gone on with the show regards the previous airport take over worries and covid etc that it doesn’t end up dying off due to prohibitive costs for all now. I turned a blind eye to the cost of food and drink at this years show because we haven’t been the last 2 years. I missed the countryside refreshments (I think it was) marquee that used to be next to cheers bar, was my usual first stop for a fried breakfast and sometimes even the evening meal too. Fair play to all the staff, directors and volunteers who give their time to make the show what it is, they may make some mistakes on the way but hopefully it leads to a better show as time goes on.

Anyway we stopped at Pizza Hut in Inverness on the way home last night as it was doable with the caravan on. A large takeaway cheese pizza just for the kids was £17.99 🙄 All of a sudden the show food wasn’t out of the way dear!

Was down for the duration and family all had a great time as well. Staff on gates and around cattle shed were great, only down side was the toilets and showers. I know late at night blazing people can struggle, but you would think it was animals using them the mess of some of them. Nevermind the items of clothing stuffed down toilets causing the lot to block. Even although it probably happens at plenty big events, hats off to the cleaners dealing with it, I'm sure they are thinking they aren't paid enough to deal with that.

You can book tickets in the car park before you go into show. So nothing stopping you going lastminute.com.

Was people with spare tickets selling them at gates on sold out days.
