It’s a shambles since it went to virgin!
Just read a letter from virgin , that they are not going to handle cash at the counter any more , you cant deposit or take out cash from the bank from now on , if you dont have a large over draft or loan facility you dont get a local manager . Why is it that when any business is taken over in this country that the service turn to sh!t so that some spiv with shares can sit back and do f... all to earn a living , sse was taken over by ovo and there service has now went down hill

Just had a questionnaire email from the Highland / Ticket Master.
Apart from one question asking about how the show compared to others, it was all about how much my “party” had spent at the show and in Edinburgh.

So they don’t want to ask us our experience or how we think they can improve, they just want to dangle us by the ankles on the way out the gate, and see how much more they can rinse us for.

They obviously think they’re too big to fail, just like the Royal Show…

How about a question like. How could we improve your show experience.? Probably wouldn’t like the answer

In hindsight we should of had a TFF get together
Was it not @country_gal thst got thst going in previous years?

It actually crossed my mind to arrange something this year but I never did as I was so busy with work on the lead up - backlog of Covid cancelled work. I missed a catch up with a couple of my horse pals and the Women in agriculture breakfast this year too :( It was a very different year! As it happened my Dad and partner went into the Stetson, which was the regular catch up spot, and it was absolutely rammed.

Aye she did... but she only did that to find herself a farmer 🤣

The wee bugger walked by me twice before she finally saw me on Saturday - and I was the drunk one 😂
If you had answered your bloody phone I would not have needed to walk around, squinting without my glasses, trying to find you!

You couldn't have been that drunk because you kept moaning about the price of drinks!

That made no sense to me either - I thought there would have at least been a comment box. I had also contacted them regarding next year trade stand prices and was just told "you can see this years but they are under review and won't reflect 2023 prices" which I guess means they are likely to increase again

I was down from Thursday evening until Sunday afternoon. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, even though I wa kept busy being involved in showing stock, shearing and YF tug of war, plus a smidge of socialising.
I felt that the security staff were politer and far more helpful than previous years.
The stock lines has a fantastic atmosphere and party spirit, and were largely self policed.
I did think it wasn’t great with all the hullabaloo about online tickets/no cash on the gates, a few of the bars that I was in were cash only. My only other negative thoughts are the cleanliness of toilets and showers

It was better than I thought it was going to be this year. We weren't showing this year and for various reasons I missed out on some of the regular social stuff I do there - plus we were only there for the two days rather than the full 4 but still had a great time! Good atmosphere! There was alot of folk complaining about the "no drink rule" but our party still happened and all was well :)

Never went near the New members area - Not a huge fan of it - but met with a friend who had been in and said it was decent.

Couple of folk I know felt there wasn't as good a show of cattle this year, some of the toilets were pretty minging and there were definitely some regular traders who were noticeably absent

All in all though good laugh, spent too much money, bumped into a couple of folk I haven't seen in years

You didn't phone me... and I did reply to your message. But you never read it 🤷🏻‍♂️

The prices were that much of a shock... I tried to drink more to get over the shock but every trip to the bar caused more shock and disbelief 🤣

Heard a few comments about tickets and it sounds like the show are not doing themselves any favours -

I know one couple that got free complementary tickets and were going to go and take the kids. Children get in for free but they need a ticket bought with an adults ticket to get in.
They phoned up and asked if they could get 2 child's tickets sent to them, the reply was no you need to buy an adult ticket for the children to get in, and he replied he had two tickets in his hand, no no that's not good enough. They ended up buying another adult ticket and not using it just so the 2 kids could get into the show...... 🤦‍♂️

I'm sure I did..... didn't I? I thought I phoned when I was hanging over the fence at the Stag looking for you :D It was such a busy few days I can't remember lol! You forget how much of a social event it really is until you try and actually catch up with everyone you want to in the couple of days you are there

Definitely no phonecall - unless you tried and it didn't connect?
I told you where I was, and didn't move until you (finally) found me... I though I did well!

Was funny watching you looking lost wandering around Stag Bar until you saw me 😂
