Anyone know of anything that will dissolve the hardened foam in the gun, lent it to a mate and he took the old can off the gun so he could replace it for me but in the process he let the foam harden.anyone any idea's?

Depends what sort of foam but a soak in a tray of diesel normally does the trick but be careful if it has rubber seals as you may need to replace them if left to long in the diesel.

have a hilti foam gun here for the last 4 yrs, it id be screwed down to store it and up until a month ago it never missed a bat but unfortunately my luck ran out.
im sure like myself you pulled the trigger in the hope it would release and start working again but i realized that when you do that you kind of scupper it.

the foam cleaner is the best last chance option but it didnt work for me this time.
i took the gun apart ( not the easiest thing to do mind you ) and i got it cleaned out but after pulling the trigger many times initially it stretched itself and even tho i got it cleaned out it was no good in the end.
i gave up and got a new one im afraid.

when mines playing up , its the ball valve / check valve that's foamed up , part of the piece that screws into the can , but to get at it u have to unscrew the live can !!
not good
my PLAN is to squirt a bit of foam out once a month ish .
I might not use mine for months , which is I think the problem .

Had seen that video alright! Haven't got a chance to look at mine yet, picked up two cans of cleaner today so I'll dismantle it and see what can b done, can't do any harm to leave the nozzle and hexagon shaped piece soaking in cleaner for a night or two, might help soften the hardened foam some bit..
