Bought some a while ago and I was expecting it to be pink. It was grey, hard as granite and the sheep hardly touched it. Got some pink stuff now so should be better.

Check inside the bag before you pay for it.
I think the pink is due to mineral/ trace element content which is good but makes it much more soluble and will soon dissolve in damp conditions whereas the whiter the block, the more pure the salt and lasts much longer.

Good price,quoted 570€ ex Ireland
They are a very good company might be worth a call to see if they can send it over to you. I used to have white from another place not really sure what the difference is, I think its very good to help prevent problems if your ration is a bit hot etc or adjusting to new feeds, also helps prevent naval sucking in calves, I think there is many trace elements in it but mine still motor through minerals. Doesnt do the metal troughs much good though.

Might just do that ,at that price it's cheaper than the salt were using at minute !

Ummmm, just because stock like the taste of it (as do I), does that mean they need it?:scratchhead:

I had a bag a couple of years ago, to use as & when, and had a follow up phone call last Autumn to see if I needed some more. The guy seemed most put out when I told him I didn't need any more yet.

If you're short of Sodium, is it better to apply ag salt at 1 cwt/ac in place of potash? Just thinking.

I didn't realise this pink Himalayan Rock salt has all these other minerals in it, where can you find a list of all the minerals in it, there is no label on the bags?
