Can anyone give an indication of what feed wheat prices were in late 1960s, then again in mid 70s?

Tried google and only managed US prices.

Hopefully someone has a good diary.

Thanks.

It would be interesting....but we all know the score don't we...
It would also be interesting if someone had COP figures as well.

And then, this one adjusted for inflation is the scary one. :-(

Basically, we are fooked.

To be clear, in 1956, our grandparents were selling wheat at prices that would equate to £650 per tonne today!!

We are worse off today than when we were at war in the forties!!

At the 1950's prices, we could tell the RPA to shove it up their jacksy.

Funnily enough I was discussing this with @martian only today. This is what he remembers.
Wheat price per cwt
1960- 21 s 4d
1961- 20s 7d
1962- 21s 10d
1963- 20s 11d
1964- 21s 11d
1965- 22s 6d
1966- 22s 4d
1967- 25s 2d
1968- 27s 5d
1969- 29s 0d
1970- 30s 3d
1971- 32s 7d
1971- £1.63 after decimalisation
1972- £1.72
Per tonne
1973- £36.7
1974- £39.62
1975- £51.8
1976- £65.00

He was moaning about how he used to get 24s per cwt in 1257 but conceded that 1287 was a particularly low year at only 2s 10 1/4d.

Don't forget that through the 50's and 60's the top rate of tax was 90%. From 1974 earnings over £20,000 (roughly £180,000 now) were subject to 98% tax. It doesn't matter how good a farmer you were, succesive greedy governments made sure you were fooked either way.
