Its hard to believe we livi in a country where money is tight for funding hospitals, schools, roads, the police etc yet the govt have money to fund crap like that.
The lunatics are running the asylum springs to mind.:banghead:
You are right. Their are some absolutely mad civil servants or other government bodies out there wasting our money on nonsense research. This countries administration needs a good kick up the arse!

@How much

No, not taking the pish, i think what you are describing is called 'Conceptual Art' or a load of rubbish depending on whose company you're in.

This may explain it, again misquoted from Brian Sewel.

"Conceptual Art has its place but if the artist has to explain its meaning then the artist has failed not the viewer."

I'm as common as muck and couldn't tell you when or why Picasso went through his Blue Period (1901-1904) thanks google, where he only painted in shades of blue.

It may look wrong to all the ruddy faced farmers on here. But how many of you have seen early morning mists were the colour has been drained from the scenery and everything is shades of grey or green? Or sunsets when everything is bathed in reds or purples?

As said it's about making you stop. Some of you have struggles sleeping what I do is look at a book of my favourite paintings and try to see things I've missed, a bit like where's wally.
It relaxes me and i forget my problems.

If you like proper paintings, for me anyway, it's the Pre Raphaelites but we are all different so just enjoy what you like.

Well, I'm away now to finish some stone separating I'll look back later.

Just to wind everyone up, :eek: why shouldn't Artists get subs oops grants for doing their work?
I bet their funding doesn't come close to what the Government give some large land owners for keeping the countryside pretty.

Chuff me @haulmblower too far, run :joyful:
