Just in case you've got elderly relatives that might fall prey to these sorts of things - just had a phone call from 01332 748821 notifying me of an HMRC fraud case against me - if I don't press 1 on my phone to confirm my details there'll be a warrant put out for my arrest.šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Three square meals a day, plenty of exercise and a careful regime when taking a shower it is for me then! šŸ˜†

I have had 2 phone calls from "HMRC" in the last two days which are a press 1 scam. The numbers are 01618253837 and 02077374294.
As far as I have read if you press 1 you are transferred to a premium rate number which can be up to Ā£3.60 a minute while they try to extract financial information from you. Do not try to be smart with these scum and think you can string them along and waste their time, it is probably costing you. I have attached an article from York Press which explains it. If this article has been posted before I apologise for duplicating it. Read and be aware.

Had three from different 020 numbers recently with the same. Normally donā€™t answer numbers I donā€™t recognise for this reason, but after the first two I thought Iā€™d see what they have to say.

Youā€™re not going to get billed for an incoming call like that. Have a google online and youā€™ll find that apart from one sketchy report from the York Press, thereā€™s nothing out there. No doubt the ā€œjournalistā€ who wrote that piece was taken in by some random internet scare story.
