They market what they sell, it is written on the tin, Low cost, No frills, Non refundable. A great number of their customers would appear to be idiots, once they have paid for the Low cost, No frills, Non refundable seat they only want the Low cost portion, conveniently forgetting the No frills, Non refundable part, (which is why it is low cost).

I would certainly have to question their intelligence and also their ability to read. What part of No Frills, Non refundable do customers not understand?
No pilots for a period. Is that what they paid for?

We would have liked to hold our nerve but as the days pass the admin fee goes up significantly and once we hit the last fortnight or so they won’t let us change dates and keep the money. It takes a few hours to get through to someone to speak to so we just changed it now.

Similar situation here, going to hold our nerve until next week as due to travel on 12th July to Majorca. Was to tie in with daughter going on a school trip but thats been cancelled already by the School (still waiting to see what we get back from that if anything). What ever happens we won't be going, but luckily have a little loophole on the fee's as Mrs is a careworker so able to bypass the admin fees with Jet2.

Ours will be a major change though as currently only 2 of us to a adults only hotel, so will need to change hotel and add daughter on as well (why she can't go to this one as she's 15 and we pay full adult price for her).

TBH I'm not too worried with Jet2, as most of the stuff I've seen have them as one of the better ones on refunds and swaps. My only worry is at present we're covered for covid on our insurance as booked in November, but if we get a new booking number its classed as a new booking and not covered in the future.

When I have flown Ryanair, it has rarely been cheaper in reality. The opening price is very attractive, but time you get to the actual cost, unless you are flying with no luggage , and not worried if you and family are spread across the plane, then it can be cheap. Suits some, very well, especially if you dont want to sit next to your own kids, I suspect a lot prefer a bit of piece and quiet;)

Although my mrs is carer for our elderly relations, we have nothing on paper and no money changing hands apart from what’s on the hospital notes so we could have had trouble proving our case.
Be careful with Jet 2 because they wouldn’t let us change it at all once it got within a week (you will need to check up on this) and admin fees go up dramatically as time passes. If your mrs being a carer will allow you to waiver the admin fees then jobs a goodn
One of my sons was supposed to go skiing on Italian French border in March but it was cancelled. They paid up a few weeks ago in full.

It will be 4 weeks before travel when we make the decision, have a email back with a dedicated call centre number they just need a copy of my Mrs ID from her firm and we're supposed to be good on the fee, just have to pay the extra for the daughter.

Ryanair cancelled my flights 3 days before departure .
Think about this, cos its true, next time you get cancelled.
A good mate of ours was going on a walking holiday in Columbia. Mid 90s .
His connecting flight was overbooked and he was left to kick his heels in Miami airport. He argued and made a fuss, but got nowhere and told he could fly the next day. He ended up going to sleep on the floor. When he woke up, his flight had crashed into a mountain , all killed.
Sometimes things happen for the best.

I knew it was cancelled in March , flight was 27th My , but they like to drag it out .
Be unlucky to crash in to a mountain near Limoges .

Not really , as far as I'm aware Ryanair haven't managed to crash a plane yet .

True story, I used to know an air accident investigator/ air safety advisor and he banned all his staff from flying with them for a time. No idea if he still does.

They may not have crashed, but I seem to recall them landing at the wrong airport a few times (including Ballykelly instead of City of Derry).

So long as your number of departures and arrivals stays the same, all is good. I’m well over 1,000 on both, and still have exactly a 1:1 ratio, albeit with a few uncomfortable ones thrown in there.
