Used to self mix a lot of it when I was spraying and we had a bit of a lull in June/July. It isn’t simple to do and requires a lot of time and energy to do it well! Also mixing water with 46% Urea you end up with a product around 20% Nitrogen if mixed well and it’s the mixing well is the problem and not having 5% nitrogen water with all of the urea still at the bottom. From what I remember 4,000 litres water and 2,000kg of Urea mixed together with constant agitation for 48 hours would give you the required solution but it was hit and miss what nitrogen value’s you actually came back with without testing in a lab. We were doing 29t of straight Urea every few days so it wasn’t that big of a deal to justify the cost of a few plastic pumps, specially designed agitator tanks and storage tanks etc.
unless you’ve got circa 1,000 acres of cropping I wouldn’t bother contemplating it.
