Home made grain pusher

This might be in the wrong section, but looking for a few ideas seeing as you all are right and handy and building things. Wanting a grain pusher to put on a Q56 loader.

Dad has bought an old mf148 that has an mf35? loader on it which is surplus to requirements. Plan is to modify it. Has anyone here built a grain pusher using similar, and if so would they be willing to share photos and advice on what and what not to do?

What width and depth of blade do i need to make for the front for example?

Any hints and suggestions gratefully recieved.

I saw a good one made out of a bit of motorway crash barrier. It was mounted on a jib extension about 10 feet long. Thought at the time it was simple cheep and effective.

Sorry don't have any pics

mmmmmmmm nice idea that. Bit of rubber on the bottom may work. Got shed with 12 ft walls, so want to make the most of them. A few people have used old shallow snow ploughs as a front blade.

Brother made similar many years ago, using an old yard scraper blade on the front of the frame. Rubber blade at bottom meant it swept up cleanly without catching on much. Still working well last year.:)

Sorry, no pics again.

At the old place, one idea I liked was to make the top of the arms so grain ran off and didn't dribble all over the yard. I seem to remember box section turned through 45 degrees, same effect could be from angle iron sitting on top of arms like this ^

we made ours some years ago, cut a section out of a round tank. We use the tank as the scrapbox now.

I made one for my A level project (7yrs ago). 12ft long, 8x4ft ply on the front, nearly all made from 50x50x5 box turned 45 degrees so no grain sat on it anywhere. Still going strong and saves a lot of sweeping! Will put some pics up if I can find some.

I made this using 4 inch box and a 5ml plate on the front with a yard scraper rubber on the bottom. Works fine on our drying floor.
