Hi. If any one on here has made a home made shed do you mind posting a few pics as I am thinking if making another at home and after a bit of inspiration. Also, how hard is it to erect a steel framed building as a kit made by a company, as I have never dine it before. I am after making a 45 x 30 ish building. Does anyone have any prices of a shed this size? Thanks. Here's a photo of my last shed I built

@PDRD was offering a 60ftx30ft steel and purlins for £2800 I think, easy enough to erect it, putting the pads in level is the skill, you will probably need some help or advice for your first attempt.

I don't bother with setting studs in bolt boxes,we just drill and resin bolts in,was a bit nervous doing it with a 115' wide shed but it's never moved in 4 years.
I did this on a 100 by 50 by 20 shed, actually I used thrubolts but same difference, just adding a 60 foot extension to the same shed, having someone do it for me as the CE regs meant no more steel frames home-made.

These people will only use cones and said that it was health and safety together with the CE regs that made them all do it like that

I think you will find if you do the job yourself on farm then you don't need ce marking, but you must roof it yourself etc, @PDRD would know

sorry Joshie, your post, here is a picture of my shed, I put up the frame before harvest, put the straw in, roofed one half, moved the quadrants, roofed the other half

I took it that you can still do home-made,talked with a local shed builder and he said he could come and make one on farm but not in his workshop.

You can make your own home-made sheds for your own purpose. However if you are paying someone make/fabricate then they need to have a CE cert with a FCP in place, even if they come to your place to fabricate it.

As for putting a shed up, it is easier to put them up if you set bolts into the concrete with cones. That way you can stand a column up on 4 bolts, bolt it down and then move to the opposite side, then swing the rafters into place.

I had a mate come along with one of those fancy gadgets and spot the middle of the upright for me on the flat top foundation (half a mm out max he said).

I bolted the post where he said with 4 thru bolts, had to slacken the outside pair to get the rafters to fit then, when the weight of the rafter came off the sling, the outside bolts were tightened again as the rafter flexed outwards.

Worked for me.

And back to the OP, yes we can do a kit building for you to put together yourself. Price depends on what cladding ect your after or if you just want a steel frame for a basis then do the rest yourself.
