Do you ever have any problems feeding barley? I’d sheep get acidosis once on barley and been nervous to feed it again.

Whole oats , whole barley , soya and molasses

I use rolled grains over whole, because it takes molasses better (although I am trying to put on as much as I can)

Rolled barley - or wheat
Dark Maize grains - or Wheat grains depending on availability
Beet Pulp.
Fully vit/mineralised molasses.

I’m only putting the molasses in to dampen dust and help the soya stick to grain a bit better really so don’t put much in.

for fattening lambs ..start mine off gingerly with beet pulp/barley on a low rate cos some will gorge whilst others won't eat....in other words if i go full rate straight away some of them will eat to much....the pulp is good for rumen and switching over

now use home'n dry treated which is alkali and a lot less dangerous

decent hay to start then switch to straw as roughage
