The engine is running fine, but the oil is becoming thinner and is full to the top(filling it’s self up) when I take the oil filler cap of with engine running the the oil pours out. I’m thinking the piston rings, could it be something else. It about 2 and a half years old and does about an hours running a month on my sons go kart.

If petrol is not turned off it gets into sump. Drain oil put fresh oil in and run for 30 mins drain oil again and fresh oil in and always turn petrol off and no more problems.

I know it shouldn't but for whatever reason if petrol is left turned on on certain Honda engines it leaks into oil. Seen a few do it. U can strip carb and renew parts but if u leave fuel on it does it again within a few months. Easier to get into the habit of turning fuel off.

As above, a good practice with these wee engines is to turn the fuel off at the end of the day and let them starve out.

Our portable firefighting pump (B&S Vanguard V twin) always does what you describe, will put a whole tankful of juice into the sump if the fuelcock is left on.
