one year ago:
Japanese ambassador in Downing Street unusually candid after PM meet with Nissan, Toyota, Honda etc:
“If there’s no profitability of continuing operations in UK no private company can continue operations...simple as that... this is all high stakes all of us need to keep in mind.”

one month ago:
“To ensure Honda is well placed to adjust to all possible outcomes, we are planning 6 non-production days in April 2019,” a spokesman said.

“This is to facilitate production recovery activity following any delays at borders on parts. These contingency provisions have been put in place to best mitigate the risk of disruption to production operations at the Swindon factory.”

Truth is most Honda cars are exported , so they may as well export them from somewhere else , good engines rubbish cars .

Aye full of all the positive points.
Ain't this Brexit thing looking good.
So who will be next to go after
Sony
Panasonic
easyJet
Moggys funds
Nigel Lawson
Bloke from Ineos
Yon Dyson
Nissan xtrails

Starting sound a bit like a Proclaimers song
"When you go will you send back etc etc
Sunderland no more, Malsbury no more, Swindon no more etc etc"

Ach well musnt grumble.

I made this very prediction on this forum months ago. Even before that i commented on the factory’s precarious position having lost the CRV and producing only the Civic in a highly competitive market. Brexit meant it was as inevitable as is the closure of Vauxhall, Toyota the Ford factories and eventually Nissan

Before the end of the year i also expect Land Rover to close one plant and transfer much more production to the Slovakian factory.

This is just the begining and is irreversible whatever deal or no deal the UK gets. The damage has already been done. But there’s much more to come.

This is not scare tactics. This is it. The reality of Brexit.

Most of the adent Bexiters just dont care about the working man or are too dense to appreciate the damage that has been and continues to be inflicted on our economy by our exit.
