Should we offer all Hong Kongers a full passport.
It is quite obvious we cannot fulfil our commitment made by the UK to the people of Hong Kong, to prevent the tyranisation by the Communist Chinese of the local population.
Should we allow them to come here?

I can remember when it was handed back, Canada took the brightest and best by giving them Canadian residency as the UK should have done.

I think we have to do our best while remaining pragmatic, more than >7m in one go is not on for any number of reasons. Anyway blanket passports are a definite no because there is a huge amount of criminality across HK and you can bet your shirt that the population would expand rapidly the moment it became policy.

But I'd not be against offering it to (very) large numbers who meet a combination of age, qualification and wealth criteria. We could use the proposed 'Aussie' system but give preference across the board to applicants from HK.

A one world government was (and still is) the Chinese plan based around their communist system. The Obama administration, the EU and Dear old David Cameron and whole host of other globalist around the planet were on board with this as well. But then along came Trump followed by Brexit to royally f**k things up for them. And now the people of Hong Kong are quite rightly dissenting on their doorstop as everything the Chinese had planned for is going boobies up!! Im afraid that the Chinese aren't going to take yet another roadblock to their efforts and a heavy handed response cant be far away. China and the Globalists must have thought back in 2010 that they had everything sewn up and bang on schedule for Agenda 21 (look it up for yourselves) and now less than 18 months away from it their plans are in tatters! I suspect ultimately at some point a major multi country War is now becoming inevitable, especially if Trump gets another 4 years in office.

It has nothing to do with Brexit or Trump. Hong Kong was merely a useful international gateway for the Chinese who's usefulness has now expired.

Most sensible thing you have written- another trump term making a large war more likely

Margeret Thatcher was the realist here when she negotiated to hand over Hong Kong, knowing that there was nothing we could realistically do otherwise.
The truth is whatever was put in the deal, there is absolutely nothing we can do on our own, to alter the events.
We could put tarrifs on Chinese goods, or even ban their importation. Beijing would not give a damn, if we had the largest trading group in the world behind us, I suspect they would take a little notice, but I see little chance of support there.

[/QUOTE

A war in Trumps second term becomes more likely because your globalist friends in the EU etc will know for certain their one world government dream is DEAD and inciting a war is the last hope they have of getting rid of Trump and trying to re establish their left wing liberal politically correct, life sapping intellectual nonsense!

Trying to make sense of anything from now on in is a fools errand and the most prophetic thing I have said in my many posts about 5 years ago was a quote from an REM song "Its the end of the world as we know it". And the world you knew wont be coming back I can assure you of that. Try reading James Joyce "Finnighans wake", that's a taste of the future.

Why is there such an objection to taking a broader Global view?

Hong Kong was on a 99 year lease from China, well 92% of it was, the British Government had no choice but to hand it back at the end of the lease, they could have kept Hong Kong Island and Kowloon but realistically how would that work.
If the British government were to offer passports to Hong Kong citizens how many would take them up and move to the UK?

One world government....some folks have a hugely active imagination.

Hong Kong contains people who are used to being allowed to live quite happily under the umbrella of the mainstream Chinese government. I presume these recent troubles are because the Chinese are trying to make the place 'more Chinese'.

Collections of people resisting or rising against governments they perceive as unjust or unfair is common under regimes that aren't strictly along democratic lines.

If there is even the hint of a civil war in China, It will be put down ruthlessly.

Once we are out of the EU and closer to NAFTA, we may well have.
