I need to buy a disc for the angle grinder for hoof trimming. What does everyone use

There appears to be a huge variety available, does more teeth on the disc cut faster ?

maybe the adjustable wopa one and set it to small cuts. Have a demotec 6 blade which is good. You've got to be careful you don't take too much off. They recommended you trim a fencing post with new ones to get the edge off it. When i did pro level course in Febuary. Found some too fierce and didnt like using them on the gadivers never mind on a real live cow

I use the 4 slot version of this, good for smaller hooves. I do not recommend it for learning on or with a chute that doesn’t firmly hold the cows foot.

Preferences my differ but I have no use for a sanding disc as a primary, it’s way too slow.

Absolutely agree. Pro use in a proper hoof trim crush only. Can take a lot of hoof away in a blink of an eye.
I use the knobbly brass disk type.
Same here, does the job in a poor crush when needed, most trimming contracted out, mostly just pre dry off.

I guess the second part of the question I should have asked is what type of blocks and glue does everyone recommend

A wooden block will last approx 1month and rubber 3mths ?

Moo Gloo without doubt for glue. Use different blocks for different things but always standard bottom of claw jobs, not slip-on ones. I tend to keep thick wood, thinner wood and rubber TP blocks

I don’t block that many but I like these, have tried cartridge type glued and always seemed to have a problem and end up wasting a load of glue. Tried the green Plastic hoof blocks And although i liked the blocks the glue seemed to take forever to harden!
