I am sad to say that Sue Martyn of Hornacott Roussins will be dispersing her flock at Exeter on 17th August. I am just helping her with the catalogue. Many of the older ewes and commercials have been sold but she is presenting her best sheep up to 2 shear at the Sale. It is a great opportunity for somebody to acquire some sheep that would not ordinarily be for sale. Especially as it is an early sale as logistics did not allow for the sale to take place at the Premier Breed Sale at Carlisle. I will post the catalogue in due course this week.

Sue has been a massive advocate of the breed over the years and has been an important part of the breed development committee. She has performance recorded her animals and was part of the group who brought some of the first French progeny-tested rams into the country. She has promoted the Roussin classes at Shows across the South West of England amongst all other classes as her role as Regional Secretary for the NSA in the South West. Hornacott Roussins have been amongst some of the most sought after lines and many commercial rams have have been exported over the the Irish Sea and to the Scottish Isles for use within commercial hill flocks.

We have two breeders who previously dispersed their flocks who have now purchased Roussins once again so there is hope Sue may yet join them.
