I thought I'd show a few photos of our latest project, which is to convert this old co to dd, to convert the fan to hydraulic drive and at the same time replace the head stock with an updated one + we may try and fit a dry fert tank.
So far we have remove the markers and fix all the worn out bearings and seals, all 12 of the centre wheels had to be done + a full set of metcalf openers fitted.
I wil post other photos as we progress, if anyone is interested.

Looks interesting, I’ve bought a co4 myself this spring and I am looking to convert to possibly metcalf openers. How much are they roughly I’ve never been brave enough to ring for a quote.

Watching with interest. Are you planning on updating the rear wheel axles? Looks like you still have the white plastic wear block system.
No plans to upgrade the wheels, as of yet.
The new headstock should be ready by sometime next week. I think fitting a dry fert tank will be the challenge, l have some ideas but I will have to build a new Venturi.

Gone for 2.5inch Dutch openers in the end. Hopefully ive made the right choice
I put the 1 inch Dutch on mine, but it needs something to put soil back in the slots. I am going to put a row of tines in front of the press wheels as the discs only do the back row of openers. I will also put a row or tines after the press wheels.
Only use mine for beans notill.
