Terrano MT

SHALLOW MIXING AND DEEP LOOSENING

The Terrano MT has been specially designed for the following range of use: “mixing on the top, loosening at the bottom”. The cultivator has a middle chassis and a 4-bar frame design (2 rows of discs + 2 rows of tines). It is particularly suitable for cultivating heavy soils that have to be loosened deeply, but where harvest residues can only be mixed in in a shallow way to prevent rough soil from being transported to the surface.

The 2-row DiscSystem allows for a shallow and intensively mixing cultivation and a clogging-free working even if there are difficult residues and high quantities of straw. The DiscSystem creates a lot of fine earth and the working depth can be adjusted hydraulically and steplessly.

The DiscSystem is followed by a 2-bar tine system. Due to the large tine spacing of 40 cm and the narrow (40 mm) LD (low disturbance) points the power demand for this system is relatively low.
A disc harrow is located in the first two rows of the Terrano MT followed by two rows of TerraGrip tines with narrow LD (low disturbance) coulters. For maximum consolidation it is equipped with the HORSCH SteelDisc packer .

It allows for an intensive loosening down to a depth of 30 cm with a low mixing effect. Almost no rough soil is transported to the surface and it runs below the disc harrow horizon. The new Ultra LD points increase drainage as they cultivate the soil but do not bring large clods to the surface.

Due to its middle chassis the Terrano MT is extremely manoeuvrable on the headlands and its roadability is excellent. Under for example wet conditions the chassis can be used additionally for depth control. Thus, less weight ist transferred to the packer – the HORSCH SteelDisc packer with a diameter of 58 cm and a weight of 175 kg/m working width for maximum consolidation. It is also ideal on most heavy soils and its packer elements leave a good soil structure. Additionally, the Terrano MT is equipped with two efficient double rollers. You can choose between a double RollFlex or a RollPack packer .

A NEW CHAPTER IN NO-TILL FARMING

HORSCH have never lost sight of the products that for 30 years have been forming its reputation: the first Seed-Exactors left a permanent impression. If you go back to the beginning of the company, Michael Horsch at that time built a machine that was suitable for no-till farming.

The arguments at that time: disturb the soil as little as possible, encourage biodiversity and, of course, in the context of decreasing prices, save costs. Due to the opening of the eastern markets in the Nineties there suddenly was a large market for no-till farming equipment. However the pto-shaft driven technology could not be used for the large fields in the East.

With the experiences from the no-till sector Michael Horsch developed tine-based no-till technology for the eastern markets that is successfully sold there today. In the recent past, HORSCH thought about developing no-till technology based on disc coulters. It is not just suitable for the Latin American markets to disturb the soil as little as possible.

But also in other regions, too, the single disc coulter technology is of great interest – especially in Europe with increasing requirements in the sector of catch crops sowing to the sowing of main crops in catch crops or in regions that are faced with resistant weeds. In parts of Great Britain, Germany and France the farmers depend on new sowing technologies with reduced soil movement – a clear task for the Avatar .

The disc coulter technology plays an important role in large parts of Russia, Kazakhstan and China.

Cruiser 4 / 5 / 6 SL

THE SEEDBED PERFECTIONIST

What are the excelling features of the Cruiser SL?

The Cruiser SL is the new specialist for shallow tillage with 3-point linkage. It is available in 4, 5 and 6 metre working width. With a maximum working depth of 15 cm it is ideal for perfect stubble cultivation with optimum straw distribution after combine harvesting, for seedbed preparation, as a fine cultivator for mechanical weed control and for loosening and venting the soils in spring.

Due to its 4-bar design the levelling effect of the Cruiser is excellent. Due to the special design of the tine above the frame the clearance amounts to 70 cm, thus increasing the clearance in the fine cultivator sector considerably. The close tine spacing of 16 cm guarantees an optimum mixing ratio and a perfect crumbling on the surface.

The new RingFlex packer is another upgrade for out Cruiser SL . Due to its 7-cm-wide rings the contact area is larger. Thus, it allows for an exact depth control even in lighter soils. Moreover, it produces a high amount of fine soil which is optimum for the emergence of the following crop.

Cultro TC

ULTIMATE EFFICIENCY

Express KR

3-POINT SEED DRILL WITH ROTARY HARROW KREDO

What are the outstanding features of the Express KR?

The Express KR combines the well-proven HORSCH seeding technology with pto-shaft driven tillage and the rotary harrow Kredo. Even under difficult conditions it allows for an intensive seedbed preparation. The rotary harrow Kredo has 10 rotating tools on 3 m working width. Its stable design is ideal even on stony soils. With quick-change tines it can be equipped with drag or TerraGrip tines. Tines with carbide coating are available for longest possible service life. The well-proven coating technology from the cultivator tine sector is used. The fine-step adjustment of the working depth of the rotary harrow is easily accessible from the outside and is clearly visible. The adjustment of the levelling bar, too, is very easy.

Three packer versions are available for the Express KR . The tooth packer roller with a large 64 cm diameter is ideal for all conditions. Its load-carrying capacity even on light soils is quite high, thus the consequences on horsepower requirement and diesel consumption are very positive. The trapeze ring roller’s diameter amounts to 50 cm for heavy soils with a high consolidation in the seeding zone or to 60 cm for changing soils from light to heavy with high requirements on the load-carrying capacity. It forms a perfect seed furrow even in heavy and cohesive conditions.

The FarmFlex packer is ideal for medium soils with little cohesion. The solid rubber roller with a diameter of 54 cm creates a zone consolidation of the soil in the shape of a furrow and reduces the encrusting effect of the soil (only available for Express 3 KR).

For more flexibility the Express KR is available with single or double hopper. With the double hopper version two components can be metered into the same seed flow and can be placed together in the seed furrow.

The adjustment of the seed discs is made hydraulically and is marked with the well-known coloured AluClips. The Express KR disposes of a frame, so the adjustment of the power harrow does not affect the sowing depth. The TurboDisc seed coulters can be lifted completely hydraulically so you can work solo with the just power harrow. Moreover, the seed unit can easily be uncoupled from the power harrow via only 4 fixing points to be able to use the Kredo solo.
